Sat, 18 August 2007 In this departure from my previous podcasts, I do a book review. Dr. Larry Anderson asked for volunteers to review books on leadership. He will post this review at his website: http://nctpcast.libsyn.com/. I chose to do GOOD TO GREAT and its monograph by Jim Collins. Listen to this short five minute review of Collins' book.Comments[1] |
Very thorough yet succint review. Now I don't have to read the book!
I like the thinking about schools as brands. I love watching Donny Deutsch on CNBC. He's an advertising guru with a nightly show and always talks about branding products and companies. I like the application of this to schools. As there is not a lot of technology use out there it seems like that's an obvious way of branding our respective schools. If everyone was using technology this might make it harder to differentiate ourselves.
While branding a whole school is harder, teachers certainly can brand their own classrooms by room environment, their values, and the tone they set.
